Uhhh, did you try the basic stuff? Restarting after removing the updates, running the game as admin, using compatibility mode, etc.? I've already tried compatibility mode in windows xp and vista 7 is what I have installed and running as admin. I removed the patches but that just made the game stop working for some reason.
